Our Experience:
Urban Renewal Project in Jerusalem

A redevelopment project in the Gilo neighborhood of Jerusalem. The project includes, among other things, the demolition of 81 existing housing units, many of which are state-owned and managed by Amidar, construction of approximately 355 new apartment units, 4 floors of underground parking, commerce, and public spaces such as - children's gardens, day care centers, synagogues, and more.

The project covers an area of about 11 dunams, creates an open area 'protected' by the buildings that surround it and enables the creation of a safe, accessible and quality outdoor area for the residents of the complex.

The project merges low-rise construction (up to 10 floors) with tower construction. At the heart of the complex, a spacious pedestrian path is planned, providing a passage for pedestrians between residential buildings and public areas.

The project was designed in collaboration with architect Maoz Preis.

Art Museum in Ramat Gan

The Ramat Gan Art Museum was built as a tile factory in 1936, and has undergone many changes. Over the years, the building housed many uses, among others - factories, workshops and garages, and was part of the industrial axis that developed in Ramat Gan. In 1987, the Museum of Israeli Art was inaugurated in a building without significant changes in the volume of the building and the outer shell.

In the museum's new renovation and expansion project, a functional industrial building is converted into a representative public building with an iconic presence. The interior spaces of the building are particularly suitable for exhibition spaces, where the outer shell allows a view to the outside. During the renovation, the original character of the building was preserved, and additional layers and new volumes were added. In the new project, there is no "behind the scenes", many areas that are usually hidden from the viewers are revealed anew and thus the building provides a complete understanding of the internal activity set-up.

The project was designed in collaboration with architect Alon Sarig at the Efrat Kovalsky firm.

Renovation of the Pargod Theater

The Pargod Theater, located in Jerusalem since 1969 and founded by Aryeh Mark, has come back to life after a fascinating process of renewal. Over the years, the theater served as a Fringe center, and various music performances were held there that brought talented artists such as Meir Ariel, Ehud Banai, Dana Berger and Iggy Waxman.

In 2006, the theater was closed to the public after the decision of the Supreme Court, when the "Perzot" housing company, which owned the building, submitted a request to vacate the theater and build a residential building there. The court's decision led to the closing of the theater and the end of the struggle to save it that began during the presidency of Teddy Kolek, the mythical mayor of Jerusalem.

The renewal process included the preparation of an urban renewal plan and comprehensive conservation work with the conservation department of the Jerusalem Municipality in cooperation with the owner.
